1. Preventative Exam

You can't feel the early stages of decay or gum disease. The earlier we catch them, the easier the treatment. So we look carefully, sometimes with a microscope, and transilluminate the teeth. Radiographs give us more information, looking through the teeth and under fillings.

2. Tell, Show, Do

Customized oral hygiene instruction & advice on how to best clean your teeth. We show you what works best in your mouth, with your manual skills.  140 + surfaces, some that are poorly accessible, take special tools to clean - we show you how.

3. Smoothing & Stain Removal

As part of a dental cleaning, we take off the hard deposits and smooth the teeth's surfaces. This not only makes your mouth feel better, but it makes your home cleaning more effective.

4. Making Teeth Look Younger

The easiest way to achieve this is to lighten the teeth.  The gentle way to do this at home is by bleaching.  Another way is to change the shape of the teeth. Dentistry now has strong porcelains allowing us to predictably veneer or crown the teeth.

5. Strengthening Teeth With Crowns

Teeth get weaker and more brittle with age and with large fillings.  Transmitting forces from their surface down the root using a crown, strengthens the tooth.

6. Plastic Protection Guards

A hard, occlusal guard fits over the teeth and protects them.  It will slowly wear if you brux or clench, which many people do.  It stops your teeth wearing against other teeth and spreads forces over multiple teeth.

7. Full Mouth Reconstruction

This is the set of teeth you always wanted.  Beautiful, all ceramic, natural looking front teeth and strong back teeth.  All lined up for an even smile.  Designed to last many years, it is carefully planned and tested in your mouth.  It gives you many years of chewing and a beautiful smile. Choosing full mouth reconstruction is a great way to invest in yourself and dependable happiness. Dr. Ian van Zyl's three years of prosthodontics training taught him these precise skills.

8. When Everything Is Gone... What Then?

Implant supported full or partial dentures gets your teeth back and gives you a regular smile with ceramic or plastic teeth supported by dental implants.

9. Ceramic Inlays, Onlays or Fillings

Super strength bondable, all ceramic restorations are stronger, longer lasting and prettier than white fillings.  While plastic fillings are bonded to the teeth, metal amalgam (which are currently out of vogue) is a long lasting material and is bacteriostatic or gold inlays/onlays conservative of tooth structure and even longer lasting.

10. Invisalign/Orthodontics

Imagine straight beautiful teeth, all evenly spaced, easy to clean and functional, so that you can chew well for a lifetime.  Teeth with without fillings is good, but a smile with all the teeth in correct alignment is better.
