Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our law firm. Since 1973, the Gent name has been associated with quality, honest legal representation and public service in Kaufman County and throughout Texas.  Attorneys in the firm have represented thousands of clients, both individual and corporate, in courts around Texas and the United States.

Our principal office is located on the Courthouse Square in downtown Kaufman, Texas.  Kaufman, the county seat of Kaufman County, is about 30 miles southeast of downtown Dallas on U.S. Hwy 175.
Our historic office was initially constructed in the late 1800s in what was the original town center.  In 1981, the structure was completely remodeled and converted into what is now the Gent Law Firm.
In addition to our Kaufman offices, we are able to meet clients at local offices in both Dallas and Fort Worth.  For catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases, including those involving asbestos mesothelioma and lung cancer, a lawyer is usually willing to meet you anywhere in the country.
While the Gent Law Firm has an extensive local history in Kaufman County, our attorneys handle cases throughout Texas and the United States, and our trial and litigation practice has become national in scope.
We represent cities, chambers of commerce, individuals, and businesses on both sides of the docket.  When choosing an attorney, it is important to note that not all lawyers or law firms are litigation-oriented.  In fact, our office is frequently consulted by other attorneys and law firms to handle litigation, expert witness depositions, and complex trial matters because of our experience, aggressiveness, and creativity both in and out of the courtroom.
Through the use of cutting edge courtroom technology and creative audio/visual tools, we are able to combine the strength of our firm’s longstanding legal reputation with creative and progressive trial techniques to create a unique combination of old and new to better represent our clients in trials and hearings.
We offer free initial consultations on personal injury, wrongful death, and asbestos exposure (mesothelioma and lung cancer) cases, as well as most other kinds of cases.  Criminal Defense, Divorce, Child Support & Custody consultations are conducted in the Kaufman office and require a small consultation fee.
