Cascade Farmers Mutual Insurance Company began it's long and successful history in 1911. When the rural residents of the community of Eden couldn't find affordable fire coverage, they took matters into their own hands and formed the Eden Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company. By January of 1913 the membership had grown to over 50 members from all over rural Cascade County and a meeting was held for the purpose of incorporation. Peter Fake was elected it's first President, the name was changed to Cascade County Farmers Mutual and the office moved to the Strain building in downtown Great Falls.
Today, Cascade Farmers Mutual is headquartered in it's own modern office building at 5000 9th Ave S. in Great Falls and insures over 5400 members statewide. In 2007 it's assets grew to over $4,700,000 with a written premium exceeding $3,400,000. Cascade Mutual purchases numerous treaties for the purpose of reinsurance from several A rated reinsurance companies. This helps us maintain our financial strength while helping to absorb the losses that occur to our members.Cascade Farmers Mutual Insurance Company has earned an A rating from to Demotech, Inc., a financial analysis and actuarial service. Insurers earning a Financial Stability Rating® of A possess Exceptional financial stability related to maintaining positive surplus as regards policyholders.
